City Lights

And I'm bored of city lights-
the busy streets that keep awake at night.
I want to go down to the countryside.
I want your love to be my guide,
so take me away...

Marilyn Heroin

Close your book on time
you took out to dry those mirrory eyes
with warmful play of love's disguise.
Won't you become my friend?
Won't you come around again?
Won't you come taste my skin, Marilyn Heroin?
Please stop the shaking.
I know it's hard to stop the waking burn
that jones could deal,
and I know the life it steals.
I'm waiting for the joy ride to come to an end
with me and heroin.

Woes

The red trees came and went.
Autumn fell and winter's spent.
Today's high is 40 degrees; today's low is lament.
Cold wind rubs her chilly tears
off her frost beaten rosy cheeks.
She says she is okay,
but her teeth are chattering,
and I can't warm her.
I can't warn her
that I am worn.
Thrown summer melodies
in the dead night of winter's bite.
My heart hears the laughter die,
and I'll act as not to cry.
Well, the season's tearing through
our own chapped weathered skin -
dry of soothing, dry of passion,
we hold hands,
if just to stay warm.
But you never felt so cold.
Your face never looked so old,
and I'm too numb.
And I can't warm her,.
I can't warn her
that I am worn.
